Just One Reason Why Students Attend BWC...

This is an email we received from a student at Brown:

"I am Prachi Jalan, a sophomore at Brown. Although I am not a part of the
Campus Crusade for Christ group in Brown, but I am on your listserv and hence
got an email about the Boston Winter Conference. Although, I am a Hindu but
the topics that are going to be discussed in this conference seem very
interesting to me and I would really like to be able to attend it. I could
also relate to a lot of these topics. I am very interested in learning more
about different religions and I feel that in today's world this
understanding is very crucial. Also, this conference will help me deepen my
relationship with God and help me get a better understanding of Christianity
too."

Pretty cool, huh?

Our Apartment!
First night out to dinner with my roommates: Sarah, Elizabeth, and Danielle

Apartment with Character

The pictures are of my apartment and 3 roommates.

The apartment is small and old...we like to say it has a lot of character! All of the houses/apartments I've been to here have very boxed floor plans with no open space.  I've been told that this if for heating purposes.  During the winter it is a lot warmer and more cost efficient to not have any large areas of open space.

My roommates are great! This picture is from our first roommate dinner.  We all try to eat together at least once a week and trade off cooking.  The first time we went out to dinner at a bar with good burgers.  All of them are 23 and moved to Boston last year after graduating from college.  Across the table from me is Sarah.  Sarah is from Maine and is a 2nd grade school teacher.  Next to Sarah is Elizabeth.  She grew up in New Hampshire, is a part time nurse, and grad student at Boston University studying public health.  Across from Elizabeth and next to me is Danielle.  Danielle also grew up in Main with Sarah.  She is a mental health counselor at an eating disorder clinic.  I have enjoyed getting to know all of them!

I'm here!

Hi Friends, Family, and Supporters!

Thanks for visiting my blog :)

I have been in Boston for a little over 3 weeks now and am loving it! I was warmly welcomed by my 3 roommates with a Red Soxs hat so I'm officially a Bostonian :)

I am starting to learn my way around the city and T (subway). I have made a few good friends and it is slowly starting to feel like home.

All in all, the transition has gone well.

My hope for this blog is that it will be a way for us to stay in touch and connected. Please write posts or email me on how you are doing and how I can be praying for you!

I'm excited to share this upcoming year and all of the adventures along with way with you!

Lots of Love,
Courtney
